Creating New Pages

This section will cover the basis from whimenu-help.gifch you will create your website, by teaching you how to create a simple web page.

In order to create a page, you must first select a parent page (a page underneath which to create your new page) from the "Page Structure" table. Once you have clicked on the desired parent page, simply select the following "Add New Page" icon from the "Actions" drop-down menu located in the table's upper right-hand corner: .

You will then be presented with an array of fields to fill out in order to quickly and easily set up your page. For a brief overview of all of these basic fields, please see the descriptions below the following image.

Change Details of the Page:

The first step is to determine a URL for the page you have just created. Under the "Type" column, in the drop-down menu, either select "File URL" (if you wish to create a real page), or "Redirect" (if you would like the page to act as a link to another page). Then, under "Information," type either the desired URL for the page or the full URL of the page you wish to redirect to. When creating an original URL, it is best to keep it as short as possible and to ensure that it reflects the content of the page.

Page Menu:

The next step is to enter the page's Menu Name and Description. The Menu Name you enter will apear in your website's menu (as a link to the page), and, depending on the design of your site and the particular templates used, the Description may appear in a number of places (such as the page's header) or, in some cases, it may not be used at all.

Visibility Rights:

In this field, you can decide whether you want the page to appear in the menu on your website or not. If you wish to make the item visible in the menu, simply click within the box to produce a check mark. If you would like to have this item in your web tree architecture, but you do not want it to be displayed in the menu, just leave this box unchecked.

Static Page Access Rights:

In this section, you can specify who you would like to have access to the page. If there are no special requirements, simply click on "everybody" in the list on the right, so that all visitors will be able to access the page. Otherwise, you can use the arrows in between the two columns to move specific groups into the "Has right" column on the left, so that they will have singular access to the page, with all others remaining in the "No right" column unable to view it.

Choosing Template For The Page:

In this last section, you can determine the page's layout and general appearance by selecting which template to use. Please note, however, that this option is available only for websites with multiple templates.
