Setting Up Domains

The "Domains" tab, within the Content Management System's "Setup" section, allows you to specify and manage the domains used by a particular website.

In order to view and/or modify the domains associated with your website, you must first select the desired site (should you have more than one) from the left-hand table labeled "Select a Web to Administer."

In case you wish to add an additional site, this can be done here as well (as long as you have the appropriate access rights), by clicking on the "Add" icon located in the upper right-hand corner of the table.

Once the desired website has been selected, in the right-hand table, labeled "Domains," you will be presented with a list of all of the domains used by the site.

It is within this table that you can add new domains to your site, as well as modify and remove existing domains.

Adding Domains:

In order to add a domain to your site, simply click on the "Add" icon located in the upper right-hand corner of the "Domains" table.

You will then be presented with a window, labeled "Add Domain," in which you can specify the new domain's details.

First, in the empty field labeled "Domain Name," simply type in the desired domain address (such as www.domain.com or 55.555.555.555).

Next, in the field labeled "Default Locale," select the desired language for your website to display content in by default from the drop-down menu (the available options will depend on what has been specified within the "Locales" tab of the CMS "Setup" section).

Finally, in the last field labeled "Status," simply check or uncheck the provided box in order to determine whether or not the selected domain will immediately become active upon its creation.

Modifying Domains:

The settings of all of a site's various domains, specified upon their creation, can be viewed within the "Domains" table.

In order to modify the settings of a particular domain, simply click on the "Edit" icon located within that domain's row of the table.

You will then be presented with a window labeled "Edit Domain," which contains the same fields as the "Add Domain" window.

Here, you can modify the domain's name, default locale, and status as desired, and then click on the "Modify" button below in order to apply the domain's new settings.

Removing Domains:

The "Domains" table can also be used in case you would like to remove a domain, so that, when typed into a web browser's address bar, the domain will no longer bring users to your site.

In order to remove a particular domain, simply click on the "Remove" icon located at the far right of the domain's row in the table. The domain, and its entire row within the table, will then be deleted.
